What's in Dragon kung fu?
I want to know if Dragon Kung Fu is right because from what I've heard it uses eye gouges and groin hit but I want to use it in a more fair fight. I want to know if Dragon has more basic punches & kicks like does it do any sort of punch and kicks to parts of the opponents body like face or torso, I want to take dragon kung fu for both self defense and sparring because if it can be used for sparring then maybe I can take it for using in tournaments.
I really want to take dragon but I'm not sure because I saw videos on them in you tube but they only give the form of it not the actual fighting or demonstration of it in a real fight. If Dragon Kung Fu is only for real fighting then I will not take it because I feel learning Bajiquan, Sanda, and Choy Lay Fut will be enough for that.
If nobody here gets what I'm saying then I want to know what the strikes in Dragon Kung Fu are like and can it be used for a fair one on one fight like no eye gouges or groin hits.

Kung Fu Styles - The Monkey, Tiger and Dragon Styles
When we talk about kung fu, we know that it involves different styles. In this article, we will tackle the three common styles involved in kung fu - the monkey, tiger, and dragon. Kung fu is actually recognized on the what sects, schools, or families it was originally being practiced. The kung fu styles were developed era after era of martial arts practice. What is basically taught in kung fu is self defence, so it can be said that this form of martial art is invaluable in that area. The wide variety of kung fu styles or techniques can be generally categorized into external and internal ones. Internal styles execute the manipulation of 'qi'. The phenomenon of 'qi' is described as the energy which flows inside living beings. The external kung fu styles, on the other hand, targets on the development of muscles and improving heart function.
Different Kung Fu Styles
Monkey Kung Fu
The monkey kung fu is subcategorized into Tai Shing Pek Kwar and the Hou Quan. Let's take them one by one.
Tai Shing Pek Kwar
Here are the different techniques of 'Tai Shing Pek Kwar' kung fu :
~ Lost Monkey: The main focus of lost monkey style is that one tricks the enemy by acting to be confused and 'lost'. One should retaliate when the opponent is least aware of the moves.
~ Crafty Monkey: This style is just lie the above, however, the training is different. In this style, the enemy is lured to attack by faking emotions. Only when the enemy drops his guard, should the attacks be made.
~ Wooden Monkey: Rage and ferocity are the qualities depicted in this form of style. Bringing down the enemy by means of grappling is an important mechanic of this style.
~ Standing Monkey: This style is also known as tall monkey and focus is placed on keeping the body straight. Targeting the pressure points is also a feature of standing monkey.
~ Stone Monkey: In the stone monkey style, the one who executes is ready to get hits on the body in exchange of the opportunity to give blows on fragile spots of the enemy. You should be alert to look for weak spots without falling to the temptation of hitting at open spots.
Hou Quan
This style is known to have different acrobatic motions like backward lunges, back flips, front flips, hand stands, sideways flips, back handsprings, walking on hands, forward lunges, spinning on the butt, etc. Hand strikes include slapping and clawing (monkey-fist). Depicting monkey expressions are also included in this style.
Tiger Style Kung Fu Techniques
The main focus of tiger style kung fu techniques are extensive footwork, acrobatic movements, a wide stance, and an unique fist position. In this fist position, thumb should be curled in a manner similar to that of other fingers of the hand. Usually the thumb is wrapped around fingers. But, in this position, it should just be curled. The technique brings the person who execute this kung fu to realize their intrinsic prowess with enough training.
Dragon Style Kung Fu Techniques
Motion that are quick and powerful can be said to be a vital aspect of dragon style kung fu. The different clawing, fist and palm styles are given priority in comparison to jumps and kicks. The dragon styles which is also called as 'Lung Ying' employs various techniques in crippling the enemy to such an extent that he is not able to get up anymore. Damaging or targeting the joints of the enemy is also one of the primary methods of dragon style.
