The Cancer-Healing Effects of Spa Treatments
Firstly, let me point out that the results that were released by the Health Spa Commission in the UK do not claim that spa treatments should in any way replace traditional cancer treatments. That said, the research results are an eye opener and suggest that people should be looking into as many forms as treatment as possible, rather than relying on just one.
Over 2500 participants were studied over a 4 year period, with varying types and severities of cancer. The results showed that those who partook in specialized spa days treatments over the course of 6 months were more likely to see an improvement in their condition than those who did not. In fact over 65% of those who had the treatments showed signs of improvement over the six months, compared to only 55% of who did not have treatments.

It is thought that the positive results for the patients were an effect of the relaxation that resulted from having the treatments such as a facial or pedicure etc. Lancer suggests that stress can often make cancer worse as the body natural processes begin to break down over a sustained period of anxiety. The spa treatments offered a rest bite for the both the body and mind, which is thought to have resulted in a better response to the traditional medicines.

I agree. I was just thinking about that this morning. Why did Americans send money by the millions to Indonesia for the Tsunami? Our government sent double what we sent, but Katrina victims, those also in Galveston, Texas from their hurricane, only got their insurance people, a handful of volunteers, and the Army corp of Engineers and SOME federal aid to help them recover. And they are STILL trying to recover. The last time I ever saw Americans actually send assistance such as food, clothes, shelters, and money was when Hugo hit North Carolina in the late 80's. North Carolina recovered within 1 yr because of all the help. I should know, I was there every other 4 wks bringing supplies and collecting money for the Red Cross. There was a record amount of money sent to them, more than what was sent to Katrina.
Don't get me wrong, I know a few Americans and Europeans lost their lives in the Tsunami, but does it compare to those who lost their lives in the 3 most dangerous hurricanes that hit this country in 75 yrs? No. US citizens send billions of dollars annually to foreign countries in aid and church missionaries. I feel sorry for those there, I really do, BUT, why do we not say the same thing to them that we say to foreigners in this country "Fix you problems in your own country instead of coming here to live a better life?" This is said to legal and illegal alike because no one can tell the difference. We are over regulated and over taxed to the point that we will be sending money to our own people or having Aid groups coming here and advertising about us and how THEY can help us. We should keep our noses out of other countries business and let them figure it out on their own. We are NOT their mom and dad to bail them out everytime they get in trouble. They call us to help, we go over there to help, we are cussed and discriminated against the whole time we are there, and then called arrogant Americans. WTF?! People say that most other nations hate us but as soon as they are in trouble they call US to bail them out? I say treat them as you would a teenager or a child under the age of 21. Let them learn by their own mistakes. If they don't get it right, oh well.
