The benefits of Inversion Therapy
Inversion therapy has been in use while treating many ailments for quite some time now. The therapy involved suspending the body from our legs so that the rest of the body can relax. Even yoga talks about inverted poses. The therapy helps in relieving chronic back pains, increases flexibility of the body and helps maintain fitness, remove stress from backbone, help in stretching the body and improve the overall well-being of the person. The therapy helps to relax and stretch body by working against the natural direction of gravity on our body.
Inversion equipments are a good way of carrying out inversion therapy. There are numerous designs in inversion equipments, each having their own advantages and disadvantages. Inversion table is the most common and most user friendly inversion equipment that is in use these days. The table lets the user lie down on the flat surface and provide back support. Most tables have adjustable levels of inversion. The user can set the level that is comfortable for him. The materials of construction involved are plastic, metal, nylon etc.
For starters, the best inversion equipment to look for is an inversion chair. Many beginners usually complain of lower leg aches while practicing inversion therapy. In such cases an inversion chair can be used. The entire body weight need not be supported by the legs in this case. But unlike the inversion table complete inversion is not possible. In case of inversion chairs only about 60% inversion is possible. But the added support offered by the chair usually takes away the beginner stress and motivates the user to keep going with the new therapy.
Inversion equipments can be electricity operated or manual operated. The electricity operated ones can be set to give controlled inversion while the manual operated one requires more effort to be put in. while practicing yoga, inversion therapy can be used to warm up and cool down the body. The advantage of the therapy is that not much of core strength has to be used to warm up or cool down. Inversion therapy is not very easy to master and has to be done only under the supervision of an experienced instructor till the user gets used to the therapy. The therapy is also not a quick fix and requires patience and dedication. But it is worth the effort when back pain and other spine related ailments can be removed without medicines.
